Tribute to HEROES OF KARGIL

Thousands stood on the battle field, their head held high and every step brimming with pride. Their families knew there was no certanity of their loved ones coming back. yet they said with pride 'My Son / Husband / Brother / Father guarding the Nation'. Such was the fervor of patriotism, that rushed through every ounce of their blood. Bereavement left them with tears in their eyes, yet the gloom was put to shame by a sense of fulfilment that stemmed from a feeling of noble sacrifice for 'INDIA'.

Guarding their Nation amidst various hostile conditions including freezing climate they achieved what they had set out to. 527 Heroes never returned home, 1,363 of them were badly injured. The KARGIL war began on the 3rd of may 1999 lasted until the 26th of July resulting in an INDIAN VICTORY.

Now its time for us to honour their sacrifice. Let us remind ourselves that we sleep in comfort, for they protect us at the cost of their lives. Pakistan Might never learn their lessons, but we Indians ought to and respect the sacrifice and blood of our Heroes, not in words, but in our DEEDS.
