शारदा विश्वविद्यालय की बीडीएस की छात्रा द्वारा कुछ प्रोफेसरों की मानसिक प्रताड़ना से तंग आकर आत्महत्या कर लेना अत्यंत दुखद, पीड़ादायक और व्यवस्था पर गहरा प्रश्नचिन्ह है। यह केवल एक छात्रा की व्यक्तिगत पीड़ा नहीं, बल्कि समूचे छात्र समाज की गरिमा और सुरक्षा से जुड़ा मामला है।

अभाविप की स्थानीय इकाई ने पीड़िता के परिजनों के साथ मिलकर छात्रा को न्याय दिलाने हेतु प्रभावी आंदोलन किया। प्रदेश मंत्री के नेतृत्व में घंटों तक चले संघर्ष और जोरदार प्रदर्शन के बाद, पुलिस प्रशासन हरकत में आया और पाँच व्यक्तियों पर प्राथमिकी दर्ज कर दो प्रोफेसरों को तत्काल गिरफ्तार किया गया।

अभाविप कार्यकर्ताओं ने विश्वविद्यालय के प्रो-वाइस चांसलर डॉ. परमानंद को ज्ञापन सौंपते हुए यह माँग की कि एक निष्पक्ष जाँच कमेटी तत्काल गठित की जाए, ताकि कोई भी दोषी बख्शा न जाए। प्रदर्शन के परिणामस्वरूप विश्वविद्यालय प्रशासन ने संवेदनशीलता दिखाते हुए मामले में लिप्त पाँचों शिक्षकों को तत्काल प्रभाव से निलंबित कर दिया है।

अभाविप की राष्ट्रीय मंत्री क्षमा शर्मा ने कहा, “शारदा विश्वविद्यालय की छात्रा की आत्महत्या केवल एक व्यक्तिगत त्रासदी नहीं, बल्कि हमारे शैक्षणिक परिसरों में व्याप्त संवेदनहीनता और शोषण की गहरी समस्या को उजागर करती है। अभाविप इस पूरे घटनाक्रम को अत्यंत गंभीरता से लेते हुए प्रारंभ से ही पीड़ित परिवार के साथ खड़ी रही। हमारे कार्यकर्ताओं के निरंतर संघर्ष और घंटों चले शांतिपूर्ण प्रदर्शन के परिणामस्वरूप प्रशासन हरकत में आया और दोषी शिक्षकों पर कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित हुई। अभाविप यह स्पष्ट करती है कि छात्र-छात्राओं की गरिमा, मानसिक सुरक्षा और आत्मसम्मान के विरुद्ध किसी भी प्रकार की प्रताड़ना को सहन नहीं किया जाएगा। हमारी माँग है कि पूरी घटना की निष्पक्ष जाँच हो, सभी दोषियों को दंड मिले जिससे भविष्य में इस प्रकार की घटनाओं की पुनरावृत्ति न हो।”

Student Suicide at Sharda University – Arrests Made and Inquiry Initiated After ABVP’s Pressure

The tragic suicide of a BDS student at Sharda University, allegedly driven by mental harassment from some professors, is not just deeply painful but also raises serious questions about the prevailing academic environment. This is not merely an individual tragedy but a matter directly linked to the dignity and safety of the entire student community.  

ABVP’s local unit, along with the victim’s family, led a determined protest demanding justice for the student. Under the leadership of the State Secretary, hour–long protest compelled the administration to take action — leading to the immediate arrest of two professors and registration of an FIR against five individuals.

ABVP also submitted a memorandum to the university’s Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Parmanand, demanding the immediate formation of an impartial inquiry committee so that no guilty person goes unpunished. As a result of the protest, the university administration responded with sensitivity and suspended all five involved faculty members with immediate effect.

ABVP’s National Secretary Kshama Sharma stated, “The suicide of a student at Sharda University is not just a personal tragedy but a stark reflection of the insensitivity and harassment prevalent in our educational institutions. ABVP has taken this incident with utmost seriousness and stood firmly with the victim’s family from the very beginning. It was through ABVP’s prompt and peaceful protest that the administration was compelled to act and action against the accused professors was ensured. ABVP firmly believes that any form of mental harassment, exploitation, or assault on the dignity of students will not be tolerated. We demand a fair and independent inquiry, and strict punishment for all those responsible, so that such incidents do not recur in the future.”
