Increase in Budget allocation for the education sector by Union Government a Welcome Step: ABVP
ABVP wholeheartedly welcomes and appreciates the Union Budget presented in the Parliament today. In comparison with previous apportionments, the increased allocation for the education sector will certainly help in the comprehensive development of public education in the country.
In addition to the sectoral assignment of 99,300 crores, a sum of 3,000 crore rupees has been set aside exclusively for the promotion of skill development among the youth. Online degree programmes for students belonging to economically-weaker sections of the society, the proposed establishment of new higher educational institutes, and numerous other progressive steps enumerated in the Budget will go a long way in expediting the pace of educational reforms in the country.
Welcoming the Union Budget, Nidhi Tripathi, National General Secretary, ABVP, said, “A set of firm steps aimed at harmonizing our education system and the job market is the need of the hour. While an average Indian perceives the Budget as an aspirational document, the student community also attaches high hopes upon this annual exercise. By way of being a sincere representative of students’ interests, ABVP demands the speedy implementation of the new education policy, which is to be unveiled soon.”
