English Press Release Protest Against Left Violence

Students March in large numbers against the left sponsored violence in JNU, support CAA.

Thousands of students of Delhi University, led by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and Delhi University Students' Union marched to protest against the left sponsored violence in JNU and extended their support to the CAA. They gathered at the Arts Faculty gate to condemn the acts of violence by left wing student organisations of JNU and extended their support to the CAA. The students then proceeded to march from the gate through Campus Law Center, Ramjas College, Kirorimal College, Hansraj College and Daulatram College with the march ending at the Swami Vivekananda statue inside the Arts Faculty.

Students participating in the protests demanded legal action against those involved in violence at JNU and condemned the Left's act of violent opposition to opinions opposed to them.

Nidhi Tripathi, National General Secretary, ABVP addressed the students and said, "Students across numerous educational institutions are coming out in support of the CAA. It needs to be highlighted that the left and the political parties in opposition have conspired to create a violent atmosphere in the country by spreading lies and misinformation about the CAA. These parties and the people involved in violence need to understand that a democracy requires dialogue and has no space for such violent activities."
