Tribute to the Valiant Security Personnel Martyred in the Anti-Terror Hindwara Encounter.
Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad pays tribute to the security personnel Colonel Ashutosh Sharma, Major Anuj Sood, Naik Rajesh, Lance Naik Dinesh and the Jammu & Kashmir Police Sub-Inspector Qazi Shakeel who laid down their lives fighting Pakistan sponsored terrorists in an operation in Handwara, J&K. The Pakistan sponsored terrorists had taken hostage civilians inside a house in Hindwara, but the special squad led by Colonel Ashutosh Sharma of 21 Rashtriya Rifles managed to get every civilian out to safety displaying extreme valour, strength of character and prudence, also killing the terrorists during the operation.
The aim of Indian Armed Forces, in any such operation, is to rescue civilians without any casualty, a task that they fulfill putting their own lives at gravest of dangers. The nation shall forever remain in debt of all the martyrs who gave the supreme sacrifice in a display of indomitable spirit and courage in the service of the nation.
Nidhi Tripathi, National General Secretary, ABVP, said, "While the nation faces an hour of unprecedented crisis in form of the coronavirus pandemic, it has also been forced to combat the cowardly menace of Pak-sponsored terrorism. The martyrdom of Colonel Sharma and his squad is gut wrenching. Our deepest condolences are with the families of the martyrs. There, however, remain anti-national forces who have been rejoicing at this dastardly act of terrorism while the nation mourns its heroes. ABVP urges the government to tackle the foes, both outside and inside our borders decisively."
