Our activists staged a Rasta Roko agitation near the Besant College in mangalore on July 17, Thursday condemning the alleged rape and murder case of Shiroor college student Ratna Kottari. Addressing the protestors, Jayaprakash, Organising Secretary of ABVP warned to launch a severe agitation if the Police Department failed to conduct a fair investigation and deliver justice in the case. He also charged the local ministers for not taking the matter seriously even when several cases of rapes and atrocities on women are reported.
Another leader Shivakumar alleged that the Women’s Commission as well as women’s organisations have turned a blind eye to the incident.
