"UGC has asked Delhi University to review FYUP. This is the first victory of the student community in this fairly long battle against FYUP," ABVP's Delhi State Secretary Saket Bahuguna said.
"DU Vice Chancellor should immediately resign on moral grounds," he added.
ABVP also demanded immediate rolling back of the FYUP.
"FYUP should be rolled back immediately and the functioning of the university should be made transparent," ABVP National General Secretary Shreehari Borikar said.
ABVP, and Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) today held a protest at the Arts Faculty against the FYUP and also against the rising cases of violence against women in Uttar Pradesh.
The University Grants Commission yesterday decided to ask Delhi University to review the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme.
The move, which could come as a shot in the arm for student bodies and teachers organisations demanding its roll back, was taken at a full Commission meeting here.
The meeting felt the programme was in violation of the national policy on education which follows the 10-plus 2-plus 3 pattern.
