'Death Warrant' for the murderers and rapists is real tribute to Nirbhaya: ABVP
Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad heartily welcomes the Patiala House Court's decision to issue 'death warrant' to the rapists and murderers of Nirbhaya. This decision would act as a strong deterrent against such heinous crimes in future.
ABVP initiated a nation-wide movement to bring the rapists and murderers of Nirbhaya to justice. ABVP also demanded that stringent laws be put in place to deter such crimes in future. ABVP sustained its agitation till the Juvenile Justice Bill was successfully enacted in 2016.
Vinita, National Secretary, ABVP, said, "We have been consistently and relentlessly demanding the establishment of fast-track courts for the expeditious trial of the accused. The Nirbhaya verdict is a watershed moment, and inspires optimism regarding the eventual mitigation and subsequent elimination of crimes against women, thereby giving testament to the constitutionally enshrined values of liberty and equality."
